Need Santa’s phone number in NZ right now? Here it is:

Call Santa FREE on 0800 222 222 That’s the official Spark Santa Line (also called the Santa hotline). It’s open 24/7 from late November until Christmas Eve. Works from any mobile or landline in New Zealand – completely free.

Quick ways to contact Santa in NZ:

  • Ring Santa / Call Santa: 0800 222 222
  • Text Santa: Send a message to 9627 (20c per text, supports Starship Children’s Hospital)
  • Send real mail to Santa (and get a reply!): Santa Claus c/o Santa’s Workshop North Pole 0001 (Post by 7 December to guarantee a letter back before Christmas)

How the Santa call works (what actually happens)

You dial 0800 222 222 and it rings through to the North Pole.

  • If Santa’s free, he answers live with a big “Ho ho ho!” and chats to your child for a couple of minutes. He’ll ask their name, age, what they want for Christmas, and if they’ve been good.
  • If it’s busy (especially 6-9 pm), you’ll get Santa’s voicemail. Leave a message – lots of kids still get a personalised call-back or their wishes go straight on the nice list.
  • It’s all recorded, so you can save it and play it back every year.

Texting Santa

If you don’t want to call Santa, just text your Christmas wish to 9627. Example: “Hi Santa, it’s Liam from Christchurch, I’m 6 and I really want a drone please!” You might get a reply text from Santa or the elves. Super quick and only 20 cents.

Posting a letter to Santa

Kids love getting a real letter back. Write your letter, pop it in an envelope addressed to the North Pole 0001 address above, and make sure your child’s name and your return address are on the back. NZ Post will deliver a reply from Santa (they’ve been doing it for over 25 years).

There you go – everything you need for calling Santa, texting Santa, or posting to Santa right here in NZ. Make the kids’ Christmas extra special this year!
