New food festival ‘Plate Up Papakura’ set to launch in South Auckland

Last Updated on August 8, 2026
Auckland Council's OurAuckland news service reports that the Papakura Business Association is rolling out a brand new food festival called Plate Up Papakura, with backing from the Papakura Local Board.
A fortnight of feature dishes
The festival will run for two weeks, giving participating eateries the chance to put on feature dishes and special dining experiences. The event is being pitched as South Auckland's newest foodie festival, and organisers are inviting food enthusiasts from across the wider Auckland region, not just Papakura locals, to come along and take part.
Local board backing
The Papakura Local Board is supporting the initiative alongside the Papakura Business Association, which is organising the festival. Details on which restaurants and cafes are involved, the specific dates, and how diners can find out about the feature menus have not yet been released.
